Dembélé to Miss Club World Cup with PSG!
Major setback for France… and Paris Saint-Germain. The French Football Federation confirmed this Friday that Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola are both ruled out of Sunday’s Nations League third-place match against Germany.
Dembélé’s Quadriceps Injury: Bigger Blow Than Expected
After limping off the pitch against Spain, Dembélé underwent scans revealing a muscle lesion in his left quadriceps. Initially thought to be minor, the injury now casts serious doubt over his availability for the FIFA Club World Cup, kicking off June 15.
According to L’Équipe, the PSG winger is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks, which rules him out of PSG’s opener against Atletico Madrid. PSG’s medical staff is closely monitoring the situation, with more tests scheduled.
Barcola’s Knock: Nothing Serious
Bradley Barcola also returned to Paris early after taking a hit to his right knee in the match against Spain. Fortunately, it’s not a serious injury, but with the summer schedule looming, the French staff is taking no risks. Barcola should be fit again soon.
Paris Holds Its Breath
With these two withdrawals, only Zaïre-Emery, Lucas Hernandez, and Désiré Doué remain with the French squad. But at PSG, concern is growing, especially with Dembélé considered a crucial piece in Luis Enrique’s plans for the upcoming global campaign.
