Steve Borthwick names new-look England squad with 16 uncapped players
England's head coach, Steve Borthwick, has announced a 36-man training squad featuring 16 uncapped players in preparation for the forthcoming match against France and summer Tests against the United States and Argentina.
The squad does not include any players chosen for the British and Irish Lions, or those from Bath and Leicester, who are set to compete in the Gallagher Premiership final on Saturday.
Among the newcomers is 21 year old Saracens scrum-half Charlie Bracken, son of Kyran Bracken, who earned 51 caps for England and was part of the victorious 2003 World Cup team.
The team will gather at the England Rugby Performance Centre at Pennyhill Park for a four-day training camp, before the final summer touring squad is revealed on June 23.
Regulars such as George Ford and Henry Slade have been named in the group, while George Furbank continues his recovery from injury and Joe Batley and George Martin are among several players who remain out of action.
